Abilene’s plumber appointed to the Council of State
Governor Greg Abbott recently appointed Darren Black, president of Black Plumbing in Abilene, to a position on the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners, which licenses plumbers and plumbing inspectors statewide. His term will expire on September 5, 2027.
Black, a licensed journeyman plumber and responsible master plumber, is also a member of the Abilene Better Business Bureau, Abilene Chamber of Commerce Business Council, Abilene Crime Stoppers, Abilene Team Workforce, Committee on military affairs of Abilene and the American Cancer Society.
Workforce Solutions presents the honors
Workfoce Solutions of West Central Texas, which runs workforce development programs and training in 19 counties, celebrated its 25th anniversary on Wednesday in a ceremony. During the ceremony, Workforce Solutions presented the Sterling Awards to a number of local and regional organizations for their support for workforce development in the region.
The award recipients included: 2-1-1 A Call for Help, City of Abilene, Abilene Industrial Foundation, Breckenridge Economic Development Corporation, Brownwood Municipal Development District, Cisco College, Development Corporation of Abilene, Development Corporation of Snyder, Eastland Economic Development Corporation, Ranger College, Region XIV Educational Services Center, Sweetwater Enterprise for Economic Development, Inc., Texas Midwest Community Network, Texas State Technical College, and Western Texas College.
First Financial Bank Appoints New Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
First Financial Bank, NA, announced in a recent press release that Kyle Seaton, CPA, CGMA, will be its new Executive Vice President and COO for the Abilene region. Seaton will replace Chuck Tennesson, who will retire in February.
Seaton was most recently Controller and Vice Chairman of Roscoe State Bank, where he started as Operations Manager in 2015. He previously worked as Assistant Controller at RL Adkins Corporation and PetroSmith / Smith Pipe.
Seaton holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Hardin-Simmons University and completed the Bank Operations Institute at Southern Methodist University in 2016 and was elected to attend the Banking on the Leaders of Tomorrow conference by the Independent Bankers Association of Texas in 2017.
