BMO Announces BMO Grant Recipients to Celebrate Women in 2021

  • $ 120,000 in grants to 18 Canadian women-owned businesses

TORONTO, November 19, 2021 / CNW / – BMO Financial Group today announced the 2021 recipients of its grants program for women-owned businesses through Canada, in collaboration with Deloitte. As part of this year’s program, BMO Honor Women is committed to $ 120,000 in grants to 18 Canadian women-owned businesses for their contribution to social, environmental and / or economic sustainability outcomes through the policies, practices or products of their organizations.

The BMO Celebrate Women program was also launched in United States this year, with a supplement $ 80,000 in grants going to eight companies there.

BMO is committed to supporting the advancement of women both within the bank and beyond, including through:

  • Diversity goals for senior executives and leadership roles through its Zero Barriers to Inclusion 2025 strategy, including maintaining its leadership in gender diversity with at least 40 percent of senior management positions held by employees who identify as women.

  • $ 1.2 million in funding at SheEO – a non-profit company that provides financial support to businesses run by women and non-binary people. BMO’s financial commitment will enable SheEO to fund all companies applying for investment in 2021 that are working to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

  • BMO Empower – a series of long-term commitments to advance inclusive economic recovery in United States, engaging $ 5 billion over the next five years to remove key barriers facing minority businesses, communities and families.
