Small businesses excited to see fans on match day weekend

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) — Florida State University’s opening weekend not only means thousands of fans will be in and around Doak Campbell Stadium, but also nearby businesses.

The Picked store in the college town says it has seen huge crowds all day, which is hugely beneficial to its business.

Now Picked is a vintage clothing and footwear store that features FSU gear and apparel.

Their goal is to bring the generations together for those who bought or wore clothes in style when they were in school a few decades ago and items for younger generations looking for a more vintage look while still representing their favorite university.

Anyway, the store is highly dependent on the school year and the crowd football season may bring.

“For us, all of our business revolves around the football season,” said Doug Ramos, owner of Picked. “It’s definitely a big part of our business. We do more to try to work for the rest of the year and it works well and people come here as football season, but during football season everyone is excited.

Ramos says his business is approaching a year and it will be his first full football season.

So he’s very excited about the possibilities the year can bring them.
